Is Ismaning a good, safe and comfortable place to live? I am married and have a 2-yr old kid. Are all facilities available there like (pre)school, hospital, shops, restaurant, bank, etc? Or is there any other place near to it that's more comfortable? But not in Munich city, I think it is very expensive.

SpiderPig, that's not really soooooo helpful as that topic is about an older couple with no kids. The things vccground is looking for are likely quite different. But it's a start I suppose.

Ismaning has lots, but it is small and less accommodating. You might want to consider Freising if you must live outside of Munich, but they are all suburbs of Munich to be honest. Munich is expensive, but only in certain places and you don't have to spend a fortune if you don't want to. For all things Munich and its suburbs, I would wholeheartedly recommend that you stay on the Sbahn or Ubahn lines within 20-30 minutes of the center of Munich.

Ismaning is not too bad for a couple with kids I would say. You can still get to the city center reasonably fast by the S-Bahn. It has enough infrastructure for everyday life. It is close to the Isar river and it is lovely for cycling. The Feringasee, a small lake, is close by. Unterföhring (one station closer to Munich) could also be considered but I think you cannot reach all the shops by walking there.
For me it would be a bit too tranquil but for a family with kids or older couple I would recommend it, it is green, safe and comes with infrastructure.

there are a few good restaurants there, and a bus that goes into the city regularily too, to Studentenstadt, so you are only a few minutes away to North Schwabing.
There are some great parks in the area and a few nice beergartens with good playgrounds too.

I live in
Ismaning since 2003.
I reckon If i did not have my friends in the Claymore pipe band i would find it very hard to live here in
Ismaning as Its quite and not much really happens here.
Maybe the Ismaning TT people would like to all meet up here in Ismaning?? If anyone is interested PM me.
Regards
