Hamburger Dom - North Germany's largest fair

Three month-long festivals every year
Mapleleafdude
Its that time of year when everyone in Hamburg goes to the Hamburger Dom "North Germanys largest Fair".

Got everything for a nice afternoon in a rollercoaster or in the evening throw up during your ride on the twister and giving everyone a free beer shower.

Its years since I went to the Dom - to be honest the Frühjahrs Dom is often cold, wet & windy...

The Sommer Dom is IMHO more attractive & the Winter Dom has (had) a certain charm (that of avoiding death by freezing with the help of Glühwein...)
Expat Mat
Its nice to combine a visit the DOM with a St Pauli game during the football season.

I like to go to the DOM just to snack for dinner. A bowl of stewed mushrooms here, corn on the cob there, doener cup (with pommes of course), beer, etc etc etc. I don't recommend going on the hanging chair ride before (or after) eating tho.

Find the Dom same old same old all the time. Is overhyped

So is an Irish pub, it's the same old all the time... and people STILL enjoy wink.gif

Love the roller coaster there. It always amazes me the work that goes into building it all only to clear it all out a few weeks later, then within weeks, they're back at it again.
