Experiment with WWI poison gas injures 40 in Munich universityQUOTE
Munich - An experiment with phosgene, a poison gas used on the Western Front by both sides during World War I, has led to 40 people at a university in Munich needing hospital treatment, rescue services in the Bavarian capital said Saturday. A technical defect led to the escape of the deadly gas, which had been produced in an experiment being conducted by three scientists at the Technical University.

Gotta love the media ...
Nobody was treated for anything, they just had them under observation.
I left the physics building yesterday at 7.30pm and saw all these
fire trucks and ambulances rushing towards the campus. Seems that
I was lucky to get out in time, right after that they closed off the area
around the chemistry building (that I have to pass).

Why is the emphasis always on "Kampfgas" and "poison gas used in WWI"?
Here's a picture if anyone's interested:

Yes, phosgene was used by both sides in WW1, but please remember the
Germans were the first to use it (and mustard gas etc.).

Yeah but we were first with that big 'ole atomic bomb - so I don't see your point Petersen?

Actually the first use of gas in WW1 was by our favourite ally and surrender-monkey, the French. Naturally the French fucked it up and the Germans didn't even realise they were being gassed.

I was in France last week. The code for the underground carpark at the hotel was 3945#. I did mention to the bellhop it was pretty easy to remember the numbers. I was gonna add that if it had been left to the Frenchies the number would be 3908# but I didn't fancy french snot in my escargot.
Highlight of my week was seeing some fat French housewife take a Frois Gras with mustard seeds and spring onions from the buffet - and proceed to pile chicken nuggets on top.
