This evening I was looking for a used car and seen more ads with "sold only to other dealers or for export" note at the end.
I don't understand why. Can somebody explain this please.
There is something fishy about such a car?
Thanks!

Cause by law every dealer has to give you 2years guarantee on your old can for 500€ which he will not enjoy when u come back cause your breaks are defunkt. So they only sell to other dealers or out of country for this reason.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but here is how I understand it.
Under German law, a 1 year warranty or guarrantee must be provided with a used car if it is sold by a dealer (not if just a private person selling his old car). But if the car is sold to another dealer or for export, then a guarrantee doesn't have to be included. With older used cars, or those with a record of needing more repairs, dealers don't want to take the risk of having to provide any sort of guarrantee or warrantee and be stuck with the repair bill.
So no, nothing really fishy going on. Our car was listed like that. We had our dealer buy it from the other dealer, and then for a 500 euro added charge we got a 1 yr full guarrantee from our local dealer. Our dealer didn't increase the price of the car, and is hoping that we don't need any repairs since his profit will be the 500 euro we paid extra for the guarrantee minus any repairs we need over the next year. Works for us.

To simplify the answers above, more than likely the cost of TUV compliance is more than the car is actually worth.

Sorry eurovol, but our car had brand new HU and AU, so it often has nothing to do with TUV.

Your dealer was a fool! Or he took out some kind of insurance to protect his ass that you didn't know about.

Our dealer wasn't a fool. He figured that a 4 year old car with only 50,000km shouldn't need much in terms of repairs over the next year. He also inspected the car himself, and did a major servicing (his cost) since it was due anyway with 50k. The fool was the other dealer
