IKEA furniture store alternatives

Where to buy modern, moderately-priced kit

Let's face it, we all love or hate Ikea for different reasons. Personally I don't mind it, but are their alternatives if i'm looking for more variety/options?
I've found a couple high end joints for couches and things which I may shop at some but i'm definitely looking for more places to check out.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, please move this to the 'life in berlin' section. I can't seem to move it after accidentally posting it.

You could try Exil Wohnmagazin in Yorckstrasse.

In Kantstrasse where I live you have http://www.moebelage.de/moebel-rahaus-berlin/rahaus-living/. Which isn't too bad at all, actuall in the Kanstrasse are quite a number of furniture stores also Asien shops.

I found a store similarly priced as Ikea (or less), it is called "Roller". They copy the latest trends and then sell it cheaper. Many of the furnitures uninspiring though and their marketing is nothing close to Ikea, but it is worth a try you can find some great deals.

here is what I found there:
ready made damask curtains - €19 Eur a pair, it is georgeous, looks the same as the €300 ones from John Lewis (UK)

and this funky lamp for €34

Strauss Innovation is a very nice store, variety is not so big but what they have is very good quality at good prices (bit higher than Ikea). there are stores in many Berlin district. Style is more contemporary.

I got some great tables at Rahaus. About 90% of what they sell is tacky ultra-modern German stuff -- the kind of crap I remember seeing in my cousin's bachelor pad in Queens in 1986 -- but the other 10% looks good, is well made, and is cheaper than you'll find anywhere else. Ikea wanted 150 euros or more for plastic-veneered fiberboard dining tables; I paid 200 euros for solid wood ones from Rahaus instead.

Anyone know if any of these places deliver? Or know of any others that do? My boyfriend has a bad back, I'm not the strongest 5'2" gal, and neither of us have a car. I'm thinking maybe a big taxi would work on the transportation end if they let me put furniture in it, but getting it upstairs might still be a problem. Among other things we're in need of an oven, a couple dressers, and a bed frame sad.gif

Was looking at the Etage7 site for bed frames and came across this: http://www.etage7.com/product_info.php/inf...HOUSE-FUCK.html

smoofy: Awesome. I love Germany.

Rahaus delivers. I don't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't too bad.
