Hi everybody!

I need you... Because I search German party songs. I know Anton, Dj Ötzi, Basshunter, Höhner and the famous "Cowboy und Indianer song"

Last time that I went to a party with my German boyfriend, I was so lost and ridiculous because I knew nothing even the basic quick dance step dry.gif I don't want to feel like that anymore, you can understand that, for sure. And the next party, my parents in law will be there. So pleeassseeee help me to discover the party songs.

Thanks
vincecanada
I can't help you with the songs, but your basic local party dance move is:

Clap clap shift your weight from left foot to right foot. Repeat. But the most important move is the clap clap.

The more uncoordinated you look, the more you will fit in.

Step 1 - Find a copy of the Birdy Song (god awful piece of shite from late 70's or early 80's)
Step 2 - Put in some ear plugs
Step 3 - Set CD player to "repeat".

All the Krauts will be so busy reminiscing about previous Mediterranean holidays they wont pay any attention to your dance steps tongue.gif

Möööp. Wrong. The most imprtant move is the four Jagertee/síx Jägermeister/fifteen kölsch beforehand.

Get yourself to amazon.de and buy the the first five Cds that come up when you enter "Apres ski", "Ballermann" or "Schlager".

I still can't believe that there are actually people who like this kind of music.

electro music? a lot of the electro music they play at german parties/clubs are actually french electro.. is that what you are asking us to suggest? or does it have to be german in origin?

digitalism is from hamburg. my boyfriend is a dj who throws parties in cologne, and him and his friends mostly play ed banger type stuff, french electro, and minimalism

It's not exactly a German party song, but it gets done to death, and you can hear them chanting it as they stream out of the clubs of a night... It's one of the 50's/60's tunes from Dirty Dancing. (best sung when you only half know the words in English anyway)

"Hey - heeeeey Bay-bee. I wanna know oh oh oh oh - will you beeeee my girl." (Shudder)
As for dancing to it, not sure how you would dance to it. I've never seen anybody attempt ballroom/choreographed dancing to that tune. I think you have to stumble about quite a lot.

The Gloria Gaynor "I will survive" tune also gets a germanised chant to it. It looks and sounds too much like a frenzied chant/dance of English football hooligans.

Now I do like the Karneval tunes - they're so camp. And then there's the Karneval staples of things like "viva espagna - and chatting to a matador - hmmm - espagna por favor..." and "Que sera, sera" followed by a bit of close contact Schunkeln. Still prefer the Bal de Pompiers in Paris though...

We took a German exchange student out dancing in the States and she was a bit more advanced than the "clap-clap" routine. She looked like she was full-on doing aerobics. Jumping jacks and all.
