How to use a Canon 40D digital camera

The wife bought me a Canon 40D for my birthday last week, no idea whatsoever about DSLR photography, would love to learn. Any tips on where I can read up on the basics first then move to more detailed sites concerning this camera.

Also anybody got any experience with this SLR?

I like Ken Rockwell's site. He tends to explain things in very clear, blunt terms so that people of all levels can follow. Sometimes he paints things a bit too black and white, but most of the time I think he's spot-on.
