Every participant-organizer in the
Berlin Kiez Club can plan an
event per month of their choice. So far, it's been theatre, music and dinners out. This is my offering for April, organized with a chocolate shop in my neighborhood. Promo text follows. You coming?

QUOTE
The
Berlin Kiez Club and
karvana invite you to take a sinfully delicious journey through the world of chocolate. Delight your mind with stories from chocolate's rich and mysterious past. Treat your taste buds to the exotic nuances of cacao from countries Madagascar, Jamaica, Ecuador and more. Learn, too, the secret art of chocolate making. And, of course, be won over by the pleasures of high-quality, award-winning chocolate.
Date: Saturday, 12 Apr 2008; 7 to 10 p.m.
Location: karvana, Gabriel-Max-Str. 4, 10245 Berlin (Friedrichshain)
Price: 20 Euro for
seminar and chocolate
tastingSpaces for just 20 people so advance registration required. Email the Berlin Kiez Club (berlinkiezclub@gmail.com) or PM me for details.

A
chocolate seminar is a very creative and sweet idea I simply can't resist.
It also reminds me of the wonderful movie "Chocolat", which tells a little magic story.
So please count me in!
I will soon transfer the 20 Euro to
karvana.

We've already got a nice list growing, so great to add you folks!
Here's the
link to karvana's bank information to make it easier on you good people. (I am reconciling my list with theirs so there'll be no falling through the cracks!)
Don't forget this part:

tlcoles: We understand that you're excited about your event, and that you still have seats to fill. But posting on your own thread every day just to bump it up the list is bad practice. You've still got 3+ weeks left until your event; maybe you can take a week off from spamming us?
Thanks.

Sorry travelnate that it upsets you. I cannot edit my one post to reflect the count (and I did ask about that). And people have asked if there are still seats available. It's great to get a response and this is, like other threads where folks are getting a count of attendees, how we let folks know that people are attending.
There are still seats left if you would like to come.

When lots of people post messages to say they're coming to an event, that's great; that's the kind of discussion for which message boards like Toytown are designed. But when an event organizer posts a new message about her event every day, without anyone else responding for nearly a week, that's not a conversation, that's forum spam.
If you feel the need to keep a public record of who's attending, you can set up an RSVP list. I'm sure Editor Bob can give you details. Or alternatively, when people e-mail you privately to ask about availability, you could simply send them a private reply.

No surprise, the forum moderators or Editor Bob have been quick to point out when threads have broken forum rules. As I noted before, I even asked have my threads edited/merged, so they do not have a problem with it, it seems.
Feel free to just overlook this thread unless you are interested or wish to attend. Thanks!

Hi tlcoles! Thank you for bumping your post up the list I would not otherwise seen it. I would love to attend this chocolate tasting event, will check for babysitter and then confirm it to you.
Cheers,

speedygonzi, spacecadet and Lavendar Rain: SUPER!
travelnate suggested an RSVP list via the forum but I didn't know about that option. Soooo, if you haven't already done so, please be sure to email our club at berlinkiezclub@gmail.com with your name, email address and phone number. I am confirming with the karvana staff and don't want to miss anyone.
We're down to a few seats now.

Just did my cross-reference with the venue and, well, I have one person -- initials BB -- who registered directly. Speedygonzo? Lavender Rain? If this is one of you, please PM me with your contact details. Hard to attach TT names to real names without it.

It took some time to register in my brain that "BB" is my husband initial on our bank account, so that is my payment directly to the Karvana bank account
See you!
