Costs for a wisdom tooth extraction

Hi!

I need to go to a dentist soon to remove my wisdom tooth and I have no insurance here. I could fly back to my home-country where the price is fixed and 100 euros. Does anyone know how much it costs here as they have no price-lists anywhere? I can't actually understand how they can operate without a price-list - the doctor can tell you any price he wants then? Do they accept credit card or cash only?

As far as I know they can tell you any price they want. It's not cheap - for sure something about 300 to 500 euro. But why not simply go to some dentists and ask them?

Scogs had a wisdom tooth removed (half-operation, half-extraction) just two weeks ago. I think the bill was app. €250 but it always depends on the individual case, i.e. how much anaesthesia you need, if the dentist has to split the tooth to extract it, if he has to cut your gum and sew you up again etc.
We pay our dentist cash for receipt.

I had one out last year for under €250, only (much) local anæsthesia, no surgery component. Dr. Myschka in Munich's Theresienstraße (not known for English speaking but may considering the various conferences attended and certificates earned worldwide).

As people have said, it depends on the case. I know when I got my wisdom teeth out, they were completely through the gum and it took literally 20 seconds to get one of them out. I can't remember how much I paid, but I doubt it was much at all over 100 euros.

If it's still fully in the gum or in a weird position then it'll no doubt cost more.

Maybe I should go to Poland?
Anyway I have understood that I can fly to Estonia and back and still save money, plus I have a doctor who understands me, there is a price-list and they accept creditcards...

I'm having my wisdom teeth out on April 8 and this reminds me I should ask the oral surgeon how much he generally charges.
