Are there any council flats in Lehel?

My prospective apartment building looks like one

Hi All

Are there any council flats (don't know the German term) or Refugee housing in Lehel? Specifically north Lehel?

I was just checking out a Flat to rent in north Lehel. The flat was great but the building itself just seemed so out of place compared to all of the nice ones around it. And the Flat had two big deadbolts and two huge metal bars across the door. I couldn't imagine that that would be necessary anywhere in Germany.

Also the owner kept saying over an over how great the neighbours were and that I would "never have a problem with them"

It all just seemed so out of place for Lehel...or anywhere in Munich for that matter.

Or am I just way too suspicious?

Weren't you the guy that had a dislike of living in a working class area anyway?
It's between Lehel U-Bahn Station and the English Garden? Just like: Take it!
One of the fluffiest areas of Munich. You'll be crying out for a local crack whore to give a bit of Gewürz, innit.

That is exactly my point Monkstown...

Lehel is great...every building on the street was great. Except for the one I went to look at. It looked terrible inside and out.

It did not fit in at all. That is why I asked.

But forget I asked. I don’t feel like getting a bunch of sarcastic replies again so just forget about it.

If the flat is shit and expensive (for Munich and the area), don't move in it. Innit.
If it is a reasonable price within your budget, TAKE IT! smile.gif

Look, I wave now to the hookers working my street, ask what the local dodgy guy is selling in the pub.
It was an entertaining afternoon when the looper nutter who had been re-housed by the council, threated to throw himself off the balcony opposite ours.
Respectable suburbia is for the likes of John Howard.

I am not personally concerned about crime or dodgy guys in pubs. The two main reasons being 1) I am 6ft 4in and 110kg and 2) this is Germany and you would have to look hard to find trouble anywhere. But I am not renting the flat for me, so it does not matter what I am concerned about and the person that I am renting it for might just wonder why the door has 5 locks on it! wink.gif

Mate, relax innit. This is Munich. smile.gif
Does have it's rough edges, but no worries there.

I am intrigued, working in north Lehel myself. PM me the address and I'll take a look at it.
