I was just wondering, the area around Berlin is dotted with lakes large and small. Is there a high risk of your home being flooded here?
And does global warming and predicted sea-level rises pose a threat to flat northern Germany?
Not just idle speculation: if we're going to buy property there we don't want to be forever pumping out the cellar or paying high insurance premiums!

There is a high water table in Berlin, but that doesn't mean that it is at risk of flooding.

you may even find that these small lakes have been put there to keep flood waters away.We have one where we live and now they are building a second one.
