With Easter time fast approaching, it suddenly occurred to me that I won't be at home for the traditional hot cross buns, fresh from the local bakery, still warm, with butter melting...
Do German people eat hot cross buns on Good Friday? If not, do any of you know of somewhere that might sell them as a novelty English thing?
I looked up the recipe, but it looks like quite a lot of effort, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, apart from Easter eggs, do the Germans have any traditional foods around Easter time? I might even be able to survive without hot cross buns if the natives can offer a tempting alternative.

Sorry, wilerk! Same thing happened to me in fact, someone at work mentioned them and I suddenly realised how much I was going to miss them this year!
