Since I'm going through a lightly loaded phase at work at present, it looks like I'm going to be a bit more active on the board than I have been for the last few years since the Britboard/TT merger. As a result I wanted to update my profile, but I discover I can't enter whatever I want, but can only choose from a drop down list. This has two unfortunate side effects:
1) I can't enter two places (workdays/weekends, I'm a Wochenendpendler)
2) The nearest places on the list are so far away as to be thoroughly misleading (in terms of meet-ups and the like)
Is this actually the case, in which case I'm just going to have to settle for the nearest place and live with the fact that it's misleading, or could it be some sort of setup problem with my PC?

You have to remember to change your location on Fridays before you head home, and then again Sunday night before you head back to work.
Works for me.
I think it was my claimed location of "Värzefokkemai, Bavaria" that put a quick end to free text entry for location.

@keydeck, I had in the back of my mind that there used to be a forum called "about the Board" or something similar, maybe that was back on the Britboard, or maybe I'm confusing it with some other site that I frequent. Since I couldn't find anything else I thought "Miscellaneous" would be most appropriate. I notice now, I must have slipped down a bit with the mouse when I clicked!
Anyway, everything is sorted out, I've just had a PM from Editor Bob, so I should probably have a location by tomorrow.
