Is there a strike tomorrow? Will the trains run normally?

Does anyone know the latest?

I couldn't find any news on a U-Bahn strike, it's the kindergartens, day-care centers and hospitals again from what I read in the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
Anyone? Bueller?

I heard on the radio this morning that kindergartens, hospital workers, bin men etc would be striking tomorrow (i.e what Sarabyrd said) and that on Friday there will be another train strike (Nah & Fernverkehr)...no further details given though! I thought they'd reached an agreement?

EDIT: It was the ground staff & baggage handlers at MUC airport today - must have been chaos - they cancelled loads of flights (mostly internal).

Just found this link on Deutsche Bahn website - no concrete details available, just says they are preparing for possible strikes!

Heard rumors that the S Bahn strikes are starting up again. Anyone know if it is true that they will start again on Monday? (10.Mar.2008)

A friend of mine got this info by email (she subscribes to some newsletter or another...)

Thanks, leeza.
Let me draw your collective attention to this fact:

Once an hour only.

While rushing out the door this morning, I heard Bayern 3 talking about a public transport strike next Monday. I presume its the usual Sbahn reduced to a 1-hour schedule on Monday, as pointed out by Sarabyrd. Or are the Ubahns busses and trams also affected?

EDIT: Just checked the Sbahn website, its now official that they are striking from Monday:

It is however unclear when the strike is going to end mad.gif

That's the bit that always cracks me up.

I know that at least one S1 train an hour will go to the airport during the strikes. Does anybody know which one? I tried the mvv website but couldn't find out. It'd be handy to know so that i might have some chance of getting to work on time.

The BBC website is carrying a report that the DB train strike on Monday has been cancelled. However, it predicts that trains will still be erratic as it is too late to get everything scheduled as normal.

SBahn website is now saying that a normal service will run on Monday. Good Luck.

More info from DB here re: canceled strike.

Bayern 3 radio is saying there can still be disruptions but that the S-Bahn service should slowly get back to normal by the afternoon. I am not risking it but leaving home at 7.30am to make it to work by 9am. Normally a 25 minute drive.
