Can anyone suggest a good restaurant in the area around Hansa Strasse, close to the Kart Palast ?

I am looking for an alternative to Vile Flora, which gave me food poisining the last time I was there, as well as crappy attitude. Looking for a table for around 15 people.

Thanks
Topsy
I've never been, but I heard a whisper last night that Stragula is a cool place... isn't that near the Kart palast? It's in Westend somewhere.

If not, take to U-Bahn 2 stops further to Laimer Platz, there's wirthaus am Laimer Platz and if you have a car there is Fürstenegger, which is fab. Also Laimers is great, fab cocktails and brunch, next to Ritz cinema

Stragula is on Ridlerstr. It'd be about a 10 minute walk from the Kartpalast. It's not a bad little bar but nothing spectcular. Cafe Westend about 5 minutes further on is much better! They'll probably be able to sort you out for a booking for 15 people so long as you do it in reasonable time.

THe Astaller ...on Astaller Str , is not too bad. Cheap cheerful and friendly. Not been poisoned yet !! Serves Sparten which is not my fav, but their's tastes good !

Or Bars & More on gollierplatz / Trappentreu Str . Was in there last week and had a good meal. Serves Löwenbrau.

Both 5 mins from the Heimeranplatz U-bahn, 10 from the Karting track

Stragula is on Ridlerstr. at the corner of Bergmannstr. I tend bar there Saturdays and Mondays. The food's good, the drink selection typically German (lager, dark, pils, 3 kinds of weißbier, various juices and soft drinks) but the owner's going to stock cider so it could become a TT Tuesday alternate. Music varies depending on the staff and patron mood.

Seating 15-20 en bloc is pretty easy but a reservation makes things easier for everyone; Germans don't like to get up from a table once they've sat down at it. Seating a lot of people together at Cafe Westend is tough.

Stragula has no sports, a TV which is rarely turned on, and a pinball machine which actually works perfectly (currently Twilight Zone).

Westend is nice, ÇaVa is horrid, you don't like Villa Flora and Melina's beer garden is closed for winter. We'll ignore the Stuberls. There just ain't much else 'round these here parts.

woof.
I'm filling in for someone tonight at Stragula so I won't be at the Arc.
