I've been asked to buy some footie tickets for someone visiting London. Can anyone recommend a good site or other method to buy the tickets?
Thanks
Well might it not depend on which team you/they wish to watch

I think they just want to see a match in London. They don't care about the team which you may find hard to understand...

I'd say any of the Championship, League 1 & 2 teams, then they should just check who is playing at home and go, as they will likely be pay on the day and even if they do need a ticket, they'll be able to get one from the clubs ticket office that opens matchdays.
Prem teams - Have a gander at the clubs websites and again check fixtures(If they're playing any of the big 4, then forget it). Arsenal will be tough, as will Chelsea. Best bets to try would be Spurs, Fulham or West Ham, in fact try Fulham.
Actually not at all, i'm not a football fan. I would imagine the best option would be to check each teams website for tickets, but if they want to see a premiership team, I think they'll be SOL.
One of my colleagues(US) after a trip to London declared that she was going to watch England play football next time she was there, and how could she get tickets.

She really did think you could just call & order them.

Cheers for the info.
There are literally thousands of sites selling tickets, but unless you go with an official site you will likely get ripped off, the only one I can suggest is
Ticketmaster, they sell official rugby & other event tickets so I assume they probably sell footie tix too.
Just had a look & they have:

Fulham is probably the best bet as has already been said.

Sorry I thought you were like Latics.
Well, you're always going to see goals at Spurs what with them being all attack and no defence.

Sevilla-Fenerbahce CL games were really great examples of all attack games. 10 goals in 2 games + 5 from penalty shoot out.
Maybe, but you never see any Sevilla-Fenerbahce CL games in London. Funny that.

Saw one post saying Chelsea would be hard to get hold of - you're joking, aren't you? Most of their games go on general sale.
It's also an interesting anthropological experience, is Stamford Bridge. You get to see examples of early neanderthal man.
