This Friday and Saturday we're putting on a party at Picadilly Circus (formerly My Big Mini), Grosse Freiheit 2.

The club has two rooms, and we'll be playing Electro-punk, Nu-Rave and Indie in one room, with electro/house and breakbeat in the other. Entry is €5

Drop me a line if you are thinking of coming or want any info...

Cheers!

Sami
Yeah - I am alive man, sorry if you've tried to call/text me recently - my SIM went weird before I went back to England so I am on a temporary new number until I can get myself some kind of inclusive deal... if you check my Facebook, the number is there...
marymanu
Aww man, wish I could come! We'll be out of town this weekend.
Shell Andrews
hi sami

what are the opening times for the club?i think there are a few of us interested in coming on sat night, most of us are really into indie music but like the other stuff too.

Shell
Sami
usual kinda thing really - opens at 10, closes at 6 or when everyone leaves...

You should come!
Shell Andrews
we are definately coming later, probably at 11pm ish. see you then..
Sami
Did you come in the end? I didn't see you (but then I was glued to the decks in the downstairs room most of the night...)

It was a fun night, great for a first event!
marymanu
Sorry I missed it. When's the next one?
Shell Andrews
Hi there

Yeah there was a group of us there sat night. Was it the club called Love, coz I asked on the door for you and they said you werent working. We stayed in the room with the dance music, we had an awesome night.
Shell
Sami
No, LOVE is next door! The new venue is bang on the corner - LOVE is number 4 Grosse Freiheit and Piccadilly Circus is number 2!
Mind you the doormen don't really know where I am most of the time, haha!

Anyway, we're doing the same in Piccadilly Circus this weekend - looks like a regular event now, which is cool except it means I'm not gonna get out much on the weekends anymore!

Haha, it really seems like your job is to BE out on the weekends. Unfortunately I won't be able to come until after Easter but I'm definitely there in April.

Hey there. Anything interesting happening this sat evening at picadilly circus? Im out with a few friends and need to get some ideas so i can drag them away from there local haunts. Also if anyone else fancies joining us they are more than welcome...
Sami
Actually we decided it was too much mission running it weekly! If you guys fancy going to LOVE though there's always that... I am aiming to hit a psy-trance party this saturday myself - dunno if it's your cup of tea but you're welcome to join us...
Shell Andrews
Hi Sami. Thanks for the info and the invite but i dont think its really our thing, not really that into trance. However keep me posted with any good indie or dance nights coming up.

Hope you have a good night.

Hey folks, i hope this is the right thread to post on... i'm looking for recommendations for a good elctro night/techno/minimal on saturday 14th June. I heading over on a stag trip but hopefully by 10 pm on the saturday night myself and a few others can get away from the usual stag crap and check out some german clubs. I've enjoyed clubbing in Frankfurt and Munich so I'm hoping I can sample something similar in Hamburg. Any tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Try Blankenese Kiez Internat on Grosse Freiheit - they play minimal/electro on Fridays and Saturdays. SM Bar (upstairs in Halo, also on Grosse Freiheit) has a really good afterhours session on Sunday mornings, or if you fancy cracking on on a Saturday morning, Barbarabar on Hamburger Berg is the place to be.
The best of Hamburg electronic music in my opinion though, is the psy/goa/prog trance scene - there are a lot of outdoor parties on in the summer as well as indoors, and the atmosphere is much better - it's still got the classic friendly rave vibe (and the music is arguably better), whereas minimal/electro tends to attract more poseurs.
Check www.goabase.de for the psy parties

Thanks very much for that. I'll check it out.
Much appreciated.
