I bought a package of dried cranberries at ALDI 2 weeks ago, because they looked interesting. But what could I use them for? Are they good for munching as a snack, can you use them for baking instead of raisins, are there any special recipes that call for dried cranberries?

You can do anything you want with them including the things you already mentioned. Here are some other ideas:

Mixed Salad + dried cranberries + vinaigrette + toasted nuts

I posted this on the leeks thread...it is one of my favorite recipes.
Cut up prosciutto and crisp it up in a little olive oil
Cut up leeks and throw them in the pan with the prosciutto, saute for a couple of minutes
Add chicken stock and dried cranberries and add cooked spaghetti and cook a few more minutes
Stir in some goat cheese

Thanks everyone, probably have to buy more of it...
Now this sounds particularly interesting. What goat cheese do you use, a soft one or a matured, hard one?

I use a soft goat cheese. It is tasty and really quick and easy.
