Not around myself - but for casual readers this is the FIRST EVER floodlit race. The whole frigging race is floodlit. Not sure how ecological that is really - seems a bit daft really to wait for the sun to go down just so you can light everything up again by 1,000,000 LUX or whatever.

I think it will seem less daft if you picture being in a full body leather suit, on pavement, in the desert sun.

This coming from a genius who wore a black leather jacket around TX in 40C weather.

I heard that they're hoping to get a lot more spectators as at the moment people can't come during the day because they all work weekends, Sundays not being a traditional day off like for us God fearing folk. wink.gif This could of course be nonsense and they don't come because it's too bloody hot, or they're not interested. The crowds they've attracted up to now have been pretty small so maybe this will work. I know the idea behind getting the Aussie car Grandprix put on at night was so us europeans didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to watch it, or worse still just record it, watch it later and miss out all the adverts! Thus reducing the amount of dosh flowing into Uncle Bernies bank account.

Anyone interested in going to Sachsenring and/or Brno this summer to watch the GPs there ? We could go by bike but it's a little less secure than taking the car and I think it would be nice to do an overnighter.

It's just a thought at the moment but I reckon it'd be pretty cool !

Is there a bikers/bike friendly pub around these parts ?

I'm up for a trip! I was planning on going by bike. Do you think theft is a big problem? I was planning on locking it to something... I imagine there are enough bikers around that someone hacksawing through a cable would draw angry attention.

I'm interested. Or head south and catch a race in Italy? Either way I can drive, don't have a bike here.
