Visiting the Stuttgart Spring Festival with kids

Will a five-year-old enjoy it?
visitor2002
Hi all,

We'll be travelling through various cities in Germany and was thinking of making Stuggart as a stopover before our trip to Hinterzarten.

Do you think that my 5 yr old daughter will enjoy the Stuggart Spring Festival http://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/ENG/leisur...ehlingsfest.htm.

How do we get to Cannstatter Wasen where the festival is held. Most likely, we'll be staying at a hotel near the main train station at Stuggart.

Also, any other suggestions on what to do in Stuggart esp with a young child.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Cheers

hi,

As long as they dont have a problem with a bit of noise and lots of people I would say yes. Apart from the beer tents it is basically a large fairground with amusement for kids also. They also have some days which are designated as family days ( check the website ). It is 10 mins from the main station. Take the U11 which is a dedicated metro train to the site.

Have fun

Your child will really enjoy it as long as you go early and don't stay too late, that is when it gets really crowded and the drunks start pouring out of the tents. It will be a very short train ride for you from the main train station downtown. Then just go right across the street from the Bad Canstadt (sp) train station you get off at for the fest (just follow the crowd).

See you there!!
