Hi i wanted to ask all the dance teachers out there what qualifications they have for teaching dance in germany.
i will be taking my associate exam with Professional Teachers of Dance (PTD) but i would like to know if this will be a recognised qualification in germany to teach.
if not what would i need to do to become a recognised Dance Teacher and would this be possible to complete in england or germany.
please pass on any other advice you can about teaching dance in germany too.thankyou.

no clue, but i know someone who used to teach dance to little kids and she didn't have any qualificiations. She had a lot of experience, but as far as i know wasn't 'certified' for dance or anything. Perhaps she was, but i don't think so. She went to high school that was a performing arts high school, but then later went to university to be a vet so...

our Irish Dance teacher was not qualified when he started teaching in Munich although he had been dancing professionally with Riverdance for 4 years. So I don't think you need to have any qualifications to teach here...he is now a qualified cool.gif The difficulty is always finding an affordable dance studio to rent wink.gif

yes.
The person I'm talking about is in Germany and this was in the Munich area (where she taught).

Both dance teachers are qualified and run schools from Munich to Krakow.
