Hi! Anybody out there or know anybody willing to meet up once in a while to speak Spanish? My Spanish speaking friends are a bit far to talk often since I've moved to Munich in the beginning of the year. Would like to have the chance to keep speaking Spanish, avoiding it's getting more rusty as I'm not a native.
Well, I'm just trying my luck as this is an English speaking site. But who knows.
Thx,C

I would be interested. I am still living in Spain but once I am back (at the end of June), I'd be willing to join in. Not a native speaker here either but it definitely sounds sounds like a good idea. As far as I know there are some other Spanish speakers on this site, like (the user) Panama who is from Panama, he lives in Munich too.

I'm interested as well.
Well... Hola

! Let's wait a little bit more and see if somebody else is interested. Otherwise I guess we can already start with 3 (Mariposa is still in Spain

), what do you think?

I don't know how much an organized event would work out. Maybe you can start hanging around with spanish speakers. There are a few in this site as far as I know and there are for sure a lot in Munich. Most of the ones I know are students, but there are a lot of others who are not.
In any case, I guess I would put my vote in just to get it going. Let me know if you decide to push it forward, I'll tag along.

I am a spanish speaker who is really interested in this. I would love to join you all if something is agreed! Actually, my friend took me to this really cool cafe a couple of weeks ago named Café an der Uni- CADU and he told me that there seems to be either a group or something that meets there regularly, which also speaks spanish !!! Jut though you all might want to know !! either way, count me in !!!

I know the group. They meet every Friday at about 9:30 pm. I've been there twice. There were two native speakers, the rest was Germans. So we ended up speaking German 95% of the time. Can't tell how good their Spanish is, but I'd rather have more native speakers around - or at least a few people who are fluent.

i'll tag along, the only spanish i've been speaking is once a week on the phone with my familia...
it's def getting a bit rusty and i keep accidentally replacing spanish words with german ones much like "necesito comprar un nuevo Buch"
Bueno

, let's got to the next step... try to find a date and a place to meet the first time

and then we see how it goes, vale? What about next week, Monday, Wednesday or Friday? The venue, I would ask for your help... I'm relatevely new in Munich and don't know so many places

Glad there is some interest. I'll definitely try to join in when I'm back in Munich then.

And regarding just finding Spanish speakers to hang out with... I don't know, that seems easier said than done. Panama is the only Spanish native speaker I know in Munich, and of course I can hang out with him, but I don't think I'd randomly run into Spanish speakers and then hang out with them all the time.

I think we should stay clear of friday/sat/sun...weekends are usually harder for people to coordinate something else
Panama
Mar 5 2008, 1:08 pm
Actually I would say weekends are easier for most people who work. At least I would be up for Thursday or Friday.
Also if anyone feels like going out dancing a bit today there's a student party with cheap entrance and drinks at Latino's bar, the latin club next to
8 seasons in
Odeonsplatz.
Sorry Nokareyes, but I do agree with Panama…
So, let’s try to make it on Friday (14.03)? I’ll start a list, please amend it or add you name. If you know anybody who might be interested to join, it will be surely welcome:

Do they have a happy hour, if so it might be good to get there earlier.

We can meet earlier anyway, but according to the web page there's no happy hour on Friday

Hola! I would be interested in this, only my spoken Spanish is not too brilliant, and I don't want to drag the niveau down too far. I can read it OK, and regularly read Spanish newspapers without needing a dictionary (too much), but speaking and understanding is another matter. Don't know if I would be able to make it this Friday anyway.
Uncle Nick
Mar 11 2008, 9:31 am
I looked at the website too, but it doesn't look quite complete (page 6 of the menu is the same as page 5). Other places have special offers for certain days but also have a happy hour the website failed to mention if they have a general happy hour - they still might possibly have one.

@GreenTea, just give it a try and see. Actually, apart from Panama (native), I don't know how much we know about each other Spanish skills

@UncleN, these latin people can never give an accurate information

... what time should we meet then, 19h? Whenever I won't make it before 19:30, anyway.
Anybody else joining?
Hasta pronto!

Hi,
after the event could you post a rough indication of level required please? I would come along to find out myself but will be going to a St.Pat's do late that afternoon. Even presupposing I managed to escape St.Patrick's clutches, I doubt if putting mojitos on top of Guiness would result in fluid spanish.
But count me in for the next one. Maybe '
Tacos y Tequila' for Happy Hour?
