So ladies of TT, today is Sadie Hawkins day, the one day in 4 years that it is acceptable for women to propose to men, or chase men!
So, did you? Did you get down on one knee like Monica of Friends? Did you get the nerve to ask a guy out?
The ever bored minds of TT wanna know! Do you have a life better than ours?

i know a few guys who've told me they'd be insulted if a girl proposed to them. I didn't get it. the only thought that went through my head was WTF?!?!

a good girlfriend of mine, proposed to her man on Sadie Hawkins at a Nurses Social (party- its a Manitoba thing) in `88, and they are married, 2 kids, her own business and he has a sucessful dental practice.
So anything can happen.

i don't know Sadie Hawkins is either.
I just know they used to do (when my parents were in high school) Sadie Hawkins dances where the girls could *gasp* ask the boys! (i know at the time it was a big thing. i'm glad it's slowly changing so that it doesn't matter who asks who (or is it whom?) to a school dance).

some would say that either way it's the girl who proposes. Men are just pawns in their game

according to that wiki sadie hawkins day is the first saturday after nov 9th ? I'm confused
except in leap years, its traditionally known in North America that on Feb 29th its acceptable for the Women to propose.
The Nov thing is for every other year and that is just the Sadie Hawkins Dance, like mere mentioned, where women ask and pay for a man.

I've never heard it called Sadie Hawkins day, but it is also an old tradition in England that on Feb 29th women can propose to men.
