Family life in the Solln district of Munich

we will be moving to munich mid march and have found temp accommadation in solln,
what do you think of it? is it baby friendly? any tips? any of you alsoin solln.
any info would be grateful

Really like it! Without a car, it might be a bit tricky. The S-bahn comes through, but plenty of areas of Solln are quite a distance from the S-bahn. Then again, you could often cycle to the station, leaving your bike there for the duration. Anyway, it's quiet, but still has shops & restaurants so is convenient enough. We joked before we moved here (from city center) that we were moving out to the 'burbs, but trust me, there are plenty of places that are more suburban than Solln! Anyway, lots of families, kids, etc. Not many playgrounds, but good ones nearby enough for us. PM me if you need specific details or have other questions.

There's a good pool near by too. I think it might be in Pullach though, but not sure.

Hi. We've been living here for a year now (and lived just one town away in Obersendling 4 years before) and love this town. That's why we moved here. I have a dog and a 21 month old son and we found a cozy little place with a big garden within walking distance to everything. It's convenient to get to town (bus 134 takes you to Obersendling Ubahn right into town) or you can Sbahn which is 5 min walk. There are plenty of kindergardens and daycare places around (private and public) and nice cafes and, best of all for nature lovers, alot of big fields, horse pastures, woods all within a couple km.

Moving to Solln in September. Would like to know about playgroups and Kindergartens in the area. Have a 2 and a half year old and a 6 month old. Any recommendations or advice? Would also be interested in meeting up with other Mums in the area.

Don't know about babies, but the Grundschule is very good here! We moved here 6 months ago and I absolutely love it! Though we actually live in the part, which is almost in the middle between Solln and Thalkirchen (near Hinterbrühler See). I wonder, if there are more families with schoolchildren in this community!

We live here now 3 years, and we don't want to leave. Kindergartens are good, school is good, people are nice, easy to get around. It is a very neighborhood feeling. We always bump into the kids friends at the local ice cream shop or the stores. I have a 6 yr old and a 3 year old.
