Yeesh, forecast calls for 60% chance of rain Fri/Sat/Sun and highs from 12 to 16. To keep the spirits up I'll be using my liquid umbrella!

I agree re the reverse rain dance and if it works and the sun comes out I'd be up for a 4km walk if others are game

Well, we checked, and finally found out that the Schlossgarten is closed until May 1st.

So, Plan B has been put in place, and we are now meeting at the AMADEUS PUB

BEST U-BAHN STATION (Pub is straight outside Charlottenplatz U-Bahn)
Charlottenplatz U-bahn , which is 2 stops from main station
Lots of trains go there: U7 direction Heumaden, U15 direction Heumaden, U5 direction Leinfelden, U6 direction Vaihingen
When travelling on the trams, you can get a group ticket for 5 people, making travelling cheaper

Okay - kudos galore to those who organized this mammoth event. Billy & Quartz - woo hoo. hip hip hoorah! i have nothing to complain about except, as usual, the waitress trying to take advantage of some's less than steller German in trying to get more out of a tip. i think we all owe our org teams rounds the next time we see them.

fantastic that there were "teams" from Geneva, Munich, Neustadt, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Mannheim and of course, Stuttgart! Awesome, awesome. Not sure where I should post my pics if at all .

I couldn't agree more. Amazing job getting that all together.

We had a great time. One of those things were we wish we could spend more time with everyone we met. So everyone is invited to the wine fests in our hood this fall, and you can stay with us. Really.

Sorry I wasn't much of a nightlife guide but I hope those of you that made it to town had fun, it was a bridge too far this year... Im pretty sure I was kidnapped by aliens, had my liver removed, my skull cleaved open and then brain refitted backwards and that the whole experience aged me 10 years and what is that lump in my tummy ? Well that is how I felt yesterday, I hope no one else suffered! But if you did at least you know you weren't alone! Kudos to anyone that managed to get up for breakfast

Beer, Really Tasty Chicken, Beer, Stickers with names on, Lots of Random Germans, Phil's got lots of mates, Raining in the tent, Dancing, Singing, Shouting, Beer and Bed. Lots more, but these I remember from the day

Thanks everyone for coming and making this a really great event! 8 tables of mad people, can't beat it! And good sports all of you for letting me sticker you with your names which helped alot when things got blurry...but then you all started swapping them around and I think everyone at one stage was "Phil's Mate" in the end, even the Random Germans who joined us! They all thought it was a big party for Phil! Was a great day and hope you all enjoyed meeting each other, and special thanks to the Nicola and the Captains who made the whole thing possible.

Of course, it will be better next year...(or even in Sept/Oct when a similar festival happens again). For info, the Festival is now on for another 3 weeks, so you can still make a trip again if you want some more succulent chicken, or visit the massive fun fair there (don't think we managed to do it this time )

Hope you are all not feeling too tired (well, as tired as me anyway!)

I agree. It confused me quite a bit at first, but I think the impetus for this get-together came from the FFM folks, so the org stayed here in this forum and was not moved to BW or elsewhere.

Hey JRD good to see you still alive, there are still some headaches around! Yeah, did you get the sequence of pics? Sensible...Rowdy...Completely Plastered! Quite funny eh?

It was a real blast, and lots of people wanting more. You might want to arrange something for Volkfest later this year!!! Tons of pics being posted, but videos are a new one this year which are even more embarrassing!!

You planning to partake again before the Festival finishes? If you do, then tell me, I may well pop down to get rid of my leftover chicken and beer tokens. Say thanks to Nicola for me
