Telephone hotline to call about health questions

German equivalents of the UK's "NHS Direct"

Does anyone know if there is a hotline, kinda like nhs direct, that i could call if i got some questions regarding health issues??? my doc just confused me even more with his chinese and i need an translation of what he meant by this and that.

is there anyone i could ask???

Not that I can think of. I'd suggest to ask a different doc instead until you find more helpful one, but be ready to pay another 10€ 'praxisgebühr' per shot.

Your health insurance might offer this service. Have a look at their hp. For example the public Krankenkasse AOK does have a link on its hp, "Fragen an das Ärzteteam". This is only for those insured by AOK, of course (they'll ask for the insurance number on your card).

AOK Direkt or the other Kasse lines.
same principal as NHS Direct, provide qualified medical advice in non emergeny situations accessibly at low cost.
