Snake stalks and eats dog in Australia

A snake stalked and then killed/ate a dog (tiny little thing so some might argue it's not a dog... it is technically in the canine familiaris family though) in Australia.

I remember when my mom had her stupid poodle when we lived in alaska, it couldnt go outside for long because eagles might get it.

I have no sympathy, their fault for having a rat for a dog, if they had something sensible it wouldn't have happened

I think it's funny that they couldn't try to remove the dog because it might harm or kill the snake in the process.
How do they decide which animal should die? Course of nature?

well reaching down a snakes throat to try and pull a dog out is maybe not a good idea, so other option is try and cut it out, likely both end up dead

Yeah - no way will a python try swallowing something that is still alive and kicking.
