Last year the Munich Whisky Festival was taken over by InterWhisky who also run the Frankfurt festival.
Unfortunately, they have decided to include another festival in Hamburg which will run on alternate years with the Munich festival.
This meant it was looking like we would have no festival this year, until Frank, the previous organisor came to the rescue.
Cue the whisky festival back at our favourite location: PraterInsel!
The festival runs from Friday 28th March until Sunday 30th and day tickets cost €15 per person and are available on the door, or in advance at Whisky Tara.
In addition, many events are being organised around the festival this year, including a "Bar Trail" with Frank's Finest Spirits and Radio Gong visiting local bars and sampling whiskies and whisky cocktails.
I am also pleased to announce that Saturday 29th sees one of the festival highlights being run at The Arc pub.
Pit Krause, founder of "Slowdrink.de" and one of the world famous "Malt Maniacs", a body of whisky connoisseurs, writers and journalists, is hosting his own Gourmet evening at The Arc.
This will be a celebration of some of the rarest whiskies and finest food as he opens some real gems of bottles and Wolfgang Hofbauer, ARD TV Chef, takes over The Arc kitchen to provide the fayre to match these fine whisky flavours.
Full details of the whole festival can be found on The Munich Whisky Festival website
