Meeting to play soccer in Schönhauser

Anyone fancy a kick around in the sports park?

I've only recently come across the large sports centre here in Schoenhauser - pretty neat setup I must admit. I was talking to one guy there the other day and he said that the astro pitches are open to the public...so going by that, does anyone fancy meeting up some day for a game?
Belloc
they are open but I think you have to book them in advance since we were once playing there and then some german team started practicing and we had to vacate
Kurtis08
I'd play
Partridge
It's usually empty early in the day so I presume we could avoid the whole booking of it if we played then?
Belloc
yeah it's empty most of the time, drop me a pm if you're playing in the afternoon
I can't do mornings
Partridge
Yeah I can play anytime so let's make it the afternoon. Add yourself to this if you can play someday next week, say Monday?

I could jump in on the weekends, but it may be more crowded. I was out by Mauer Park this past Sunday afternoon, and their fields were open to the public and it didnt look hard at all to get a game. Maybe another option

You wanted a game of Footy around the Mauerpark on a Sunday?? theres a Flohmarkt there every sunday - how
about volkspark Friedrichshain - or better still theres an artificial pitch round the corner from Ostkreuz, that belongs to a school
that can be used...sometimes though you have to climb over the fence
berlinender
Put me on that list too..

I recommend the astro pitches on the other side of the stadium at mauerpark, beside schönhauser allee. So, Mauerpark, but not mauerpark exactly. They're often free when not during gametimes (saturdays 12ish) or weekday evenings (7pm on). Sunday afternoon they're normally empty, or occupied by those like us, up for a kickabout.

But I'd play. I need to cough out all that Ofenheizung coal dust I've been inhaling all winter.
Kurtis08
Right, I should have clarified...I think its called Jahn Ludwig sport park where the pitches are located. At any rate, if anyone is up for playing later in the evening or on the weekends just let me know. I work until 6ish so any time after that...
Partridge
I can play anytime guys, just so you know. Here until mid March so I'd hope to get a game or two in before then. Any of you guys got some German friends that might come along?
Partridge
Surely somone has a German friend in Germany?
Kurtis08
I am sure I can grab one or two of the Germans that I work with...not sure of their quality though...
Partridge
I can't say anything. I'm more like Kevin Kilbane than Damien Duff.

Just want a bit of a kickaround!
Partridge
This isn't going to happen, is it?
berlinender
You can make anything happen, if you want!

if it doesnt, then at least you can say me and you were up for it"!

Ok I'm new to this site but I want to start playing football again.. the magic touch i once possessed is fast becoming well, not so magic.. i am up for it. i can see others are up for it too so how about we set a time this sunday afternoon sometime, say 2pm, get the ball rolling.. i know a school basketball/football pitch on Ackerstr P´Berg thats usually empty, have to hop the fence
Cork Girl
This is a bad way to start I know using my wifes logon. Would be intersted in a kick around though. Here most of the time for the next twelve months and could play anytime.
Partridge
No hurleys allowed, okay?
pirate of penzance
I like Mr Fahrenheit's plan for this Sunday. Do other people use the pitch outside school hours, or will we be kicked off within minutes?
Partridge
There's a perfect astro pitch (a few in fact) in Schoenhauser though.

Hey all,
I'm back in Berlin in a few weeks and if anything ever gets sorted out a kickabout sounds good fun, doesn't matter where, or how many fences we have to hop! ph34r.gif I'll keep my eyes pinned on this forum, but just to let you know you can count me in...
mr fahrenheit
I used to live near it, most times i went and just kicked a ball about and got no hassle. The thing is I can't guarantee it will be free. The whole public ptich thing is actually quite organised (v german i suppose!) ie theres an informal schedule whereby certain groups play every week at the same time. But around that area (Acker Str) I know about 3 other public pitches, each varying in quality. Those astro pitches are great on Shonhauser though, if we can play there all the better. Our challenge is simply finding a place where we can meet and have a kick about. This whole organising on a forum is tough!
berlinender
has anything been arranged for a kickabout tomorrow then??
