I'm determined that this is the year our kids discover camping. And being Germany we're trying to book in advance!

I have done a google search but I'd like to know if anyone has any recommendations.

We have all the gear (tent, bags etc.) and we're looking for something like the New Forest.

Thanks in advance.

The USO here on Panzer (moved from Patch) had a couple fliers about some somewhat local camping spots, when I looked into it last year. It's not quite the same as the camping I used to do in Idaho. These sights had showers and swimming pools. Sorry can't remember what it was called but the USO would be a good first stop to try and find out.

What's USO? Other than US Oil or Unidentified Submerged Object (according to Google).
Thanks.

This place is pretty good.

Not exactly wild camping but it's out of the way by German standards and the area is beautiful. Lots of hiking, biking (road and mountain), a couple of castles in the area, a puplic outdoor swimming pool within walking distance as well as things for kids to do too.

USO is a support office on base. Sorry thought you were someone from the military community.
