Where are locations of stores in Munich that sell sheet music and/or music books from various artists, showtunes, vocal/instrumental scores, classical music(etc)??

Dont know about in Munich but there are lots of places online that you can get the stuff, usually in pdf format, and print. You probably know this or would prefer a book format but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

On the corner of Tal and Sternecker Str. (right downtown, one block off of the Isartor)

...and then of course stop in for a beer at the beer and oktoberfest museum, say hello to Lukas for me. (big guy who runs the museum)

There's a music shop on the corner of Dienerstraße (near Dallmayr) and Landschaftstraße (the park behind the Rathaus). The shop is small but downstairs they have a huge sheet music section (I think it's the best place to get classical music) but not sure if they cover all music types. I'm pretty sure they can also order anything you might need. Music Lindenberg (sonnenstraße) have a limited music section...

I just ordered a song book from this place online: Haus der Musik

I used to work for: http://www.halleonard.com/

Largest sheet music distributor in the world. I loved working there...

Anyways, they have tons of links if you want to order online.

I love musicnotes.com - you can download sheet music for pretty much any instrument and genre and it has the added bonus of being cheap smile.gif

At this point in time i don't have time to wait for an online purchase to arrive. Please keep em coming, I still like to know of more places (and websites for the future)

Hello you musical people!

Will be in Munich for a few days and always like to take any opportunity to feed my addiction for browsing/buying sheet music, mainly piano and flute.

Any wonderful music shop recommendations? Thanks.

Hieber am Dom (right next to Frauenkirche) is good, I think they also have a small shop at the back of Marienplatz (might be gone now though since Hieber and Lindberg are now one)
Lindberg on Sonnenstrasse ( http://www.hieber-lindberg.de/ )has a huge selection too, probably your best bet although Hieber might be more focused on classical music.

Just a warning that Hieber-Lindberg is being revamped so it looks like a building site, and looks closed - I haven't ventured through the dust, but there is a sign saying that they are still open, so go past the plastic sheeting and chaos to find the entrance at the back somewhere.

Yeah they're currently expanding but still open.

Instruments and such on the main level and music and accessories on the second.

Right around the corner from McDonald's at Karlsplatz. There is also a store near the Church with two onion tops heading towards Marienplatz. It is around the back.

Thank you.

Hieber am Dom (behind the Rathaus) have lots of classical music (down in the basement). They also have some second hand music at the back of the ground floor and upstairs.

Knobloch on Schellingstr. is stuffed with second hand music.

For flutes, Flute Point at Isartor have sheet music and cds (Zweibrückenstr. 8, in the inner courtyard - website doesn't seem to be working) and the owner is really helpful.

If I can't find what I want at these three shops then I tend to order from Just Flutes in the UK.

Thanks; I only managed to get to Hieber am Dom but it's great ... had to be prised out after a couple of hours!

Hieber & Lindberg on Sonnenstr. 15 (see above link) - keep missing it as it shuts at 1900 werktags but worth a look?
@libby: reeds!

http://www.hieber-lindberg.de/ website has english option and does reeds mail order (not that I would recommend that particularly)
