A German woman I've never heard of before just called me up (my phone number is listed under a different name from what's on the doorbell, btw) and gave me a really quick, confusing 30 seconds about how she's looking for her sister, and she knows I live at so-and-so and asked me to tell her what the number of the house is that I face from my balcony. When I didn't answer right away (anyway I don't actually know the number), she got bitchy and recited all these facts about my address, my house, my street, etc. Based on her encyclopedic knowledge of my whereabouts, I told her she could probably figure it out all on her own. I told her I don't know the number, anyway, and then she got really mad, told me off, and hung up on me. It was so odd. It felt like a scam, but there's really nothing there to scam. Right?

Sounds like some sort of weirdo with nothing better to do.

Guess you're right. It was weird, though. Hey at least it gave me another reason to avoid work for a few minutes.

I would have said the same. She seems to know the area well she can gte off her arse and come round and have a look etc.
Very strange.
Was the phone number witheld?

Good question. I'll check the history. (I didn't check before picking up, because I was expecting a call).
I would have called it a crank caller too, but she sounded around 50.
