Bars in Berlin Mitte

Hiya!

Mates of mine are coming over in March for couple of days. They are gonna stay in the East part of Berlin somewhere round Rosenthaler Platz (Mitte) and because I live in Charlottenburg I dont know many good places round there! So I hope maybe some of you guys could help out and make some suggestions!

Well, there are tons of. Don't know what your mates want exactly, so just some personal highlights (in no particular order, please google for exact adresses):

- Muschi Obermaier (Torstraße): nice living room atmosphere with friendly staff
- Red rocket (monbijouplatz): typical new lounge with retrofuturistic style but nice staff and good cocktails
- 1a lauschgift (only some steps to the east): like red rocket.
- Fire bar: cheap drinks, mixture between living room and cellar atmosphere, young people and nice staff
- ambulance bar: styled well, good electro djs thursday to saturday, good cocktails but not cheap
- aufsturz: not spectacular overall, but 100 different beers make it. (both oranienburger straße)
- lining: ultra hip lounge with bedlike corners (tucholskystraße corner linienstraße, no sign at the door)
- white trash (schönhauser allee): bar/restaurant/club popular among "cool" tourists. with something like a tarantino vibe...
- bellini lounge (oranienburger str): good cocktails for 4,50 euro during happy hour (till 9 o'clock)
- br 101(torstraße): average to ok cocktails in this brazilian bar but for insane 3,50 euro only!
- schokoladen (ackerstr. 169): alternative bar with concerts in the evening, cheap drinks
