Hi ppl! smile.gif

I'm South African and I've been spending alot of time reading through many topics for info of which I've really enjoyed. laugh.gif

My fiance will in Munich for a year, he'll be leaving in a few months time so I'm looking for as much info as I can so that I can make up my mind of whether I should go with him blink.gif , so far I have read good things ...

Is there any other advice you can give me??? Getting a job (I really can't sit at home for a year), being a lacto-vegetarian, shopping, public transport etc ...

Anything is welcome ... really, the good and the bad ...

Excited and scared!! (or am I just freaking out for no reason?)

Lelu ...

Hi there,

South African myself and love it here. If you want specific info, send some questions my way via a PM.

drink Augustiner, avoid Loewenbrau...

Germany, and the natives' love of meat, has cured many a wacko-vegetarian so you should go home healthy after a year here...

Seriously, it's great. Munich is an excellent place to be, and it's only a year after all.

As for a job, what did you have in mind?

As others have said, Munich is a nice place to live.

Unless you have superpowers*, or a very big and ferocious fiancé, you can forget shopping or eating or working: Munich is swarming with energy vampires that will quite simply suck all the life out of you.

Meantime, if you still have a deathwish, answers to more specific questions might be garnered by using the Search function - there are over 80,000 posts in 'Life (in-joke) in Munich' alone.
