Stuck on which city to move to, Berlin or Dresden?

Been to both cities many times, i know loads of girls from each city, so when i move, local things wont be a problem...just not sure which i will be happy in for the long term..

I will be 37 soon (so getting on a bit) I spoken German is ok, can only get better...im writing off to the zoo's in both cities for jobs...

Wanted to move for the past couple of years but couldnt afford too, now if i dont do it this year i will be too old and guess never do it!

At the end of the day, which is the best for jobs esp being english, im great with computers etc (in english), animals, and er...i make plastic models for a living as well as breeding reptiles and spiders...which means im no good at DIY or things like that..and its been 15 years since i worked in a bar!

Im back over for a visit in a couple of months...but wondering if you was to take the plunge, which city, so give me so plus and minus points...

Oh and how much would i need to take with me to manage a few months? Im registerd disabled back home with slight mobility problems (it hurts to stand and lift, walk etc cos of a broken back 12 years ago)

I have been asked, but hundreds (well at least 40) people here in the UK, to import old VW campervan parts, dirt cheap in Germany, v v expensive in UK, so im thinking of driving back a trailer full 3 times a year...

cmon, give me some thoughts :-)

The questions you've asked are far to general to allow anyone to give you any sort of useful response. "I'm great with computers" doesn't mean anything at all. My 7 year old niece is great with computers but I'm not about to offer her a job. Let's see, Berlin's a lot bigger than Dresden, so probably more opportunities there. How much you would need to "manage for a few months" depends entirely on the type of lifestyle you are used to or which you expect. You're 37 years old...and have hinted around the same questions in a number of previous posts...surely you can come up with something a little more concrete if you are actually looking for help from people.

I dont want to have anything to do with computers when i move over, enough of that...

I was looking at thoughts, of people who live in both, how they feel some time later, the pros and cons. or if there some things i have overlooked.

I was thinking along the lines of DD, do people find it too small, quirky after a few months and wish they had gone somewhere bigger.

I live in dresden and find it quite nice. I would not want to live in a city as big as berlin. but i am a small town boy. Ilike to vist rome berlin but to live there a bit to crowded for my tastes. Berlin has more people and more distrists that have happening areas. In Dresden there is prettty much just one. Most peopl ehere say it is like a large village. as you always end up meeting people you know even if you dont want to. About the VW parts i expect that is controled somehow but I have never tried. I think it is cheap in dresden. In some pubs , not popular discos you can get a .5 beer for 1-1.5 euros. I dont think food is expensive and rent an be very cheap.

I know both cities well to visit but not to live..i like both.

I have to write some letters to the zoo's in both cities and see how it goes.
