All cheese is not equal*.

Are you looking for hard cheese?
Because you probably will not be successful finding zero fat hard cheese in Germany.
And, if I'm really honest, this isn't a bad thing as fat carries flavour. In hard cheeses, better to use a stronger-tasting cheese (think: parmesan, 30% fat but 100% taste) but in a smaller quantity, than a weak-tasting cheese en masse.
Eating unnaturally fat-free cheese also isn't that healthy as it is a highly processed product.

There are cheeses that are naturally low in fat, one of which is Harzer Käse. But not everyone likes it.
Other lower fat choices are those high in water such as skimmed-milk mozzarella, skimmed milk feta and feta-style cheeses, ricotta or soft spreading cheeses (Frischkäse) which can have as low as 0,2% fat.

If you really want a low fat sliced cheese, Arla Delite has a 5% fat variety, Aldi cheeses at around 17%, Plus has sliced cheeses from 5%, Lidl Linessa light cheeses.
None will however taste anywhere as good as a modest piece of Gruyère served with some dried fruit. Or shaved Grana Padano on filet steak and rocket salad with a half a lemon on the side and a swirl of decent olive oil. Or...sorry.

*actually this is not true, as I love all (real) cheeses to be honest

I know none.
But I could recommend you some good fat free butter.

Why would anyone want to eat fat-free cheese?

I can understand low-fat, but totally fat-free sounds so... pointless. Better not eat any cheese then. unsure.gif

Pointless? They make a great meal with vegetarian steaks and alcohol free beer.
Do not forget a decaf espresso afterwards.

You can't buy alcokol free beer in Germany. Beer is a beverage with alcohol. Have a look at the labels the next time you order one. You will not find the word beer.

Well, visiting a friend of mine is Spain, he had bought for the occasion a full box of imported German beer. He opened a few before I arrived and complained about the shitty "for export" quality. Reading the label he understood "Bier" but was unaware of the meaning of "Alkoholfrei" until I told him smile.gif

For pure refreshment think Bitburger Drive. The alcohol is carefully removed, but only once the beer has fully matured so it locks in the famous Bitburger taste. And at the same time it reduces the calories. The full fermentation process means that Bitburger Drive can be tapped straight from the keg, unlike most other beers. And because it is fully fermented, there's no need for it to be pasteurised, so it tastes even fresher. That's why the German National Football Team drink Bitburger Drive. Bitburger Drive – refreshingly low in calories.

You can eat healthy and still have a bit of fat in your diet, a 10% fat cheese is nothing. I recently tried a a 13% fat hard cheese, it was totally tasteless.

I'm no nutritionalist, but it is a well known that 25% of your daily intake of calories can come from fat.
