"München wird gemütlicher"

Something cool? No, just another furniture shop.

Anyone else seen the posters around town for the person on the sofa with the MVV, or Olympiapark in the background?

I thought it was that trade show where they put the sofas in the bus stops etc.. But no, it's just another furniture shop opening.

It took me ages to get the correct spelling of the URL: muenchen-wird-gemuetlicher.de

I've been following their ads in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and on the radio. They claim that they are opening Bavaria's biggest furniture store out in Freiham (extreme west of town, on the Augsburg EDIT: Lindau Autobahn). Just another "my couch is bigger than yours" company.

Actualy its nearer the Lindauer Autobahn and the A99 but thats just the map reader in me! As it is pretty much on my doorstep I shall pop by when it's open. There are also plans to build a new IKEA there. The whole area is becomng a massive redevelopment. Oh for a Sainsbury's...

That's just cruel, I completely misread this to begin with and was getting my hopes up!

Any idea what other shops plan to open here (other than IKEA)?
Got my fingers crossed for a Decathlon store...

Sorry dear... We'll both just have to be happy that the AEZ is near and a REWE is opening up at the top of the road near the Media Max. Other stores I don't know yet. Hornbacher is there though. But my knee jerk reation is still to go to the OBI in Martinsreid.
