The
Whisky Fair starts today. It's open for everyone, entry is €12,00 per head. It looks like it's going to be a quite interesting venue with Whisky on offer from Ireland, the States, Japan and of course Scotland. There'll be whisky to sample and bottles to buy. See you down there guys!

I've gone twice in Frankfurt. I can recommend it wholeheartedly. If you're not sampling the most expensive ones you can get by on €20 worth of chips. Great idea for a guy's meetup.

Hi,
this is run by a guy from Switzerland calling himself "Inter Whisky". He also runs the Frankfurt fair and (supposedly official) Munich whisky fair.
He has now decided not to run the Munich fair every year, but to alternate between Hamburg & Munich each year.
To be honest, I was looking forward to the Munich fair last year as he moved it from the old location at the Prater Insel to a more comfortable hotel, but this just didn't work. The fair was poorly attended compared to previous years and it also had less stands from whisky producers and bottlers.
I have also heard reports from experts in the trade that the Frankfurt fair is similarly poorly attended.
Anyway, good luck and I hope your fair in Hamburg is better.

What I would recommend for anyone attending, are the Masterclasses. Especially if a chap called Richard Paterson from Whyte & Mackay is hosting one.
This company also own Jura & Dalmore (amongst some other distilleries) and Richard is their master blender and No. 1 promoter of their brands.
If you get a chance, just go to any Masterclass he hosts!

Last time I attended in Fft was a couple of years ago. It was packed. I have heard there are better whisky-Messes out there than Interwhisky. Agree on the masterclasses or seminars. You usually get extra samples that you don't need chips for, and the seminars are quite interesting.
