Hi, I'm visiting munich at the end of the month for the week with 7 others, all men. I'm looking for any good bars, beer gardens to hang and meet people (off course the ladies) but also train travel to wolfsberg for the VW museum? any help would be great. thanks

Seeing as we are enjoying freezing rain at the moment I think the beergarden idea isn't that feasible. Take a look at the front page here and read the bar and restaurant reviews, browse the Meetup forum for ideas.

Here is a link to the Deutsche Bahn ticketing site. You might, however, want to book your tickets to Wolfsburg at the train station itself as you should be able to get a group rate.

wolsfberg is a long way, the BMW museum in munich might be a better option, there is also Audi and Merc a bit closer than the VW trip, air berlin flight would be a better option for Wolfsberg

I was going to post about the BMW museum as well but it turns out that the temporary museum has been closed since 6 December 2007, the renovated museum is due to re-open in spring 2008. But take a look at BMW World.

Hello, if it has to be the VW museum: Wolfsburg is 370 miles away from Munich. It takes 5hrs 20mins (one-way) to get there by train and a roundtrip is around 340 US-$ per person when you buy your train tickets on short notice (special savings might cut it down to as low as 100 $ though if you book your tickets at least 3 days in advance).

If the AUDI museum would also do it for you: it's in Ingolstadt, which is only 1hr 10mins away from Munich by train.
