Hi,

can anyone tell me where I can get a full breakfast fry-up here in Munich?

Depends on what time of day. wink.gif

Personally, I don't think much beats the full irish breakfast done by Gunter Murphys, but then you have to fit in with their opening hours (not perfect for breakfast).

Also you got the option of Victorian House, who do something called the St. James, a frying pan with a few friend eggs set in it with bacon, sausages, tomato and mushrooms.

Kilian's does the Irish Breakfast thing. Eggs, sausage, bacon, black pudding, beans, toast.

Kilian's Irish breakfast is great!

Agree with Pootle on this. Günther Murphy's do the best English/Irish breakfast.

I'll third that ! Great breakfast at Murphy's.

Though if you want a great Pizza, go to Kilians. They do the 'Pound of Meat Pizza' which was formerly known as the breakfast Pizza. Also make sure you get the egg on top as well.

Prefer Molly Malone's breakfast fry-up... but yeah... not exactly breakfast when you can't get it until noon.

Hi everybody,

does anybody know a restaurant or pub in Munich where I could have a real english breakfast (I am talking especially about the beans).

I tryed a few irish pubs (I know no english pub in Munich), no luck so long.

I would really apreciate an adress/tel./website of such a place.

Thank you in advance!

Check out one of my favourite breakfast places in town, the Victorian Tea House am Vikt. Markt. They serve a good breakfast. Nice eggs, good bacon etc. You can order a la carte or go with a "set" menus. The latter are not cheapt but its a lot of food, so if you're really starving or looking to share thats the ticket for you.

The St. James is probably closest to what you're looking for:

3 Spiegeleier mit gebratenem Speck und kleinen Bratwürstchen, Tomaten und Champignons, dazu frischer Toast, englischer Orangenmarmelade Butter und wahlweise eine große Tasse Kaffee oder Tee

I also know they've got Heinz Beans on toast on the menu so you could probably build your own plate to specification. wink.gif

I'd recommend to go early if you like peace and quiet and if its latter call for a reservation especially on the weekends. Its not that they are always busy - sometimes its totally empty and sometimes its a long ass wait. Just depends on the day.

PS: THe bacon is more "american" style than english, i.e. its in strips but they're much thicker and softer than the usual sticks you get around Munich.

Thank you, mate, I shall try the Victorian House tomorrow morning.

None are answering the phone this morning (well afternoon now) - anyone know offhand if Molly's is open?

I think they normally open at 1:30, though I'm not sure of that.

i thought they were supposed to open at 12 on sat and sun and 5 mon to fri.

I believe they open later at 5:00pm according to this site. (Unless it's out of date). dry.gif

i think that website is wrong. I've eaten in there well before 5.

Yeah, it can be that they open at 12 on weekends. All I know is that every time we've gone to have breakfast there we've been there too early and it's been closed. sad.gif

Yeah normally we go for a fry-up at 12 - but since it's Monday and a holiday I am guessing not today sad.gif
Had oven pastries (Pillsbury) instead, was well boring but whatcha gonna do hehe.

Yep, bad site. This one is slightly better.
It also includes
Sat: 12:00-01:00
Sun: 12:00-01:00
...but no mention of holidays.
