Buildings that symbolise the new unified Germany

Disgusting Surprise
Hey all,

Basically, I have to draw up a list of buildings that have kind of become symbols of the reunification of the new Germany. Particularly, as symbols of the idea of Ossi and Wessi coming togther and the difficulties they imply.

Some that have sprung to mind are Die Frauenkirche in Dresden, Berliner Hauptbahnhof and Palast der republik in Berlin.

I was thinking of perhaps focusing on the Berliner Hauptbahnhof, as I remembering hearing that it was bulit in the former no mans land between east and west. However, I don't think there's enough enough out there.

So does anything else spring to mind among the locals?

Cheers for reading!

The Palast der Republik has been largely torn down - a symbol in itself, I suppose - although they changed their mind about half way through and seem a bit unsure what to do now.

The new chancellery (Kanzleramt) in the government quarter of Berlin would, I suppose, be a good one, as along with the Reichstagsgebäude it's the seat of power of reunified Germany.
