If you mean the corner whotsit, it's an Eckbank.

On a similar note, I'm looking for the name of the 3 sided eckbank, in the shape of a "U" similar to this one:

Good question. I´m a native speaker but can´t come up with a single term. I´d describe it as "dreiseitige Sitzbank" or "U-förmige Sitzbank" similar as you did in English.

Essecke works too, meaning the whole ensemble. Eckbank is really just the benches but in the vernacular people have come to call the whole thing the Eckbank. I've always liked the vaguely ludicrous use of Runde Eck for a round or u-form seating arrangement.

My first thought is "umlaufende Eckbank",
these guys call it "u-förmige Eckbank".
