I'm looking to buy a bunch of cans of Heinz baked beans. Anyone know where I can get them, and not at imported-from-UK prices?

Already checked Karstadt on Tegernseer Landstrasse and V-Markt on Balanstrasse... no luck, and those Erasco ones don't cut it.

I've seen them in Karstadt or Kaufhof or something like that in Kaufingerstr. It was some store that started with K anyway.

Heinz are too expensive here and the erasco ones do cut it if you know how to "fix" them. What do you want to make?

HIT in PEP (and probably the other stores too, like in Motorama on Rosenheimstr.), had Heinz beans last time I looked, for 99c.

Metro in Euroindustriepark stocks Heinz Baked Beans but you have to have a customer ID card to get in there.
pepper
Walmart do them, but all are expensive, but probably Walmart is your best option.

Edeka sell them for around 99c. I have 3 cans u can have. If u want them PM me. I am home in about 6 weeks, so I can bring back more.
roro
Karstadt at M. Freiheit have them... with a ringpull top on the can.
However, they ARE expensive! Generic (cheap) baked beans with a dash of
Tomato sauce does the trick.

Hertie at Hauptbahnhof and Kaufhof at Marienplatz both have Heinz Baked Beans. Sometimes it worth spending a little extra for a wee treat every now and then.
BadDoggie
Hit and Metro (if you know someone with a card to get in) have 'em. They're about EUR1/can (tin) in the latter. Sad when they're 29p in Tesco.

just recently came to munich, so brought some essential british foods with me mainly walkers crisps and baked beans, so if anybody misses home that much your more than welcome to have some!!!
Arsh
saw some to the REAL, the one close to Wal mart. dont know how expensive they are though!

Thanks all... needed them in a hurry for yesterday. Mister Red is an English teacher and had to prepare an English snack for a school event, so he really wanted to do beans on toast with his favorite Heinz baked beans. Unfortunately, we couldn't find them in time so ended up paying too much for that Kattus brand from Tengelmann. ..

Oh well, next time... thanks anyway and thanks for the tomato sauce tips.

You can get them in the Hong Kong Market in the Motorama centre at Rosenheimer Platz. Quite expensive - more than 1 euro per tin.

Wow wow wow...

Was shopping at the "Marchete de Saigon" Asian shop in frauenhofe strasse and at the back left corner there is this huge row of Original HEINZ Baked Beans...

but i forgot tolook at the price when i found them a weeks back. so today i remembered someone posting something about looking for them - so i did my homework and they only cost €1.50!!!

is that cheap or wot???

come on, i remember in vienna austria in the international food store they cost something like €2.00. apart from the fact that in the commisary at the UN they cost 80cents i still think its cheap!

or??

Since you all seem pretty excited over these beans, I will mention that I saw them in the Indian foods store next to the Italian foods store in the Hauptbanhof and it is open on Sunday!
latecomer
heinz beans running wild in REAL and WALMART (about 1 euro), KARSTADT (at least the nordbad one, about 1.30 i think) available in lots of other places including Asian supermarket (1.20 i think) on Hohenzollernplatz (which is ace, BTW), the ADNAN feinkost on tengstr/georgenstr (100 yds from twisted bavarian - expensive but ace as ace can be)

They are 99c at the Edeka near me.

And Ace Hardware in the states sells them for about 39cents a can, now that is ace in spades! wink.gif

I just bought heinz beans today from Karstadt. As far as I know they have always sold them.
Topsy

I once bought a bunch of Heinz Baked Beans at Kaufhof at Münchner Freiheit.

They had a whole stack of them on the shelf.

Curiously, half the tins were labelled in English "Baked Beans", the other half were labelled, "Gebackene Böhne" (or however it's spelt).

I thought to myself, "oh, I'll take the English please. None of this Johnny Foreigner rubbish for me".

I took about 10 tins (was cooking up a big breakfast for friends that weekend).

weird thing was, when I got home and unpacked them, half the tins were in German. I couldn't figure it out. I was sure I'd carefully selected the English only.

Turned out that they were printed in German on one side and English on the other.

Duh! Wadda n00b!

Now that Spar is owned by Edeka, the one at Rotkreuzplatz now stocks Heinz (near the pickles for some bizarre reason).

Carm
Mini Mal has them (Arabella park) has them by the canned veggies, then there is another sort called SouthWest (or similar) in the International foods section.

The Minimal at Knorrstrasse even has Heinz Chili con Carne - it isn't half bad if you're desperate.
bluedave
V-Markt on Balanstr has them on the next aisle to the American specialities aisle.
Pally
