Can any of you personally recommend any Mexican restaurants in London (not soo expensive either)? I'm not fussy as to what style, whether the real deal, TexMex or CaliMex, am just craving something similar. I knew where to go in Munich, but I haven't sussed out this city yet! I know about Chiquitos but.. well.. not so impressed.

Here's a list I found through Google. I work in the City and live in Holloway/Islington area if anything springs to mind but am willing to travel...

Try Wahaca (nr covent garden)

Cafe Pacifico on Langley St. right off covent garden tube is decent - if nothing else they have great raspberry mojitos smile.gif

I've been to La Perla for dinner (I think it was on Charlotte St?). Not mind-blowing, but very decent. Great mexican is something that seems scarce in London. There is also a place on Westbourne Grove Road, if you're headed from Queensway to Notting Hill, it's on the left side as soon as the neighborhood starts to get a little posher (around Chepstow Rd, I think)

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to try them out wink.gif How about Mestizo - has anyone been there? I can't figure out if it's a poncy posh place or if the food raelly is good.

I just tried Wahaca but you cannot reserve tables there! Ok, maybe they have some clever logisitical plan to get around that inconvenience, I thought.. but no. The man said if you want to eat around 8pm or 9pm you have to expect to wait around 1 hour, so get there 45 mins - 60 mins in advance to wait for a table. I'm sorry, but that's not how I want to spend my evenings!
