Freeze - a flash mob action in Cologne

So we need 200 Toytowners to do this... suggestion would be Cologne Mainstation in front of the Dom... Who's in ?

Reminds me of the flash mob we did in Munich back in 2003.

its killing me ... what band did this in the UK?? they chucked something like 10K in fivers off the top of the station and got everyone on film on their knees going for the cash... was it Waterloo station?? ahhhhhh who were they???

I read about a similar thing at a London railway station. People used their MP3s and all suddenly started dancing for a few minutes. Does anybody have a take on this, and what is it called? Great concept!

thats the thing about flashmobs, they appear from no where organised by the internet and disappear after 15/30mins so no laws broken,

The NY one was amazing, I would'nt do it in cologne though, have enough of a problem being stared at by the locals as it is!

BritGirl.. everyone stares over here... I say give em more reason to stare... The biggest issue is, unlike NYC.. the locals here would
be likely to push past us rudely and give us a mouthful of abuse at the same time.

I would so love to be part of a flash mob! Would be wicked! Btw spiller and fotosonne - the action of a flash mob is only done for about 5 mins. Having said that I'd prob muck up and go all giggly if we were doing a freeze! No idea how the ppl in NY did that, it looked professional! There was one in Manchester a few weeks ago - ppl randomly appeared in Market St. (think Schildergasse here) and walked up and down brushing their teeth! =D There was also a pillow fight one done in Manc a few years back - but bet we'd SO get nicked by the Polizei for doing that! Hey a cool one would be to make a giant circle and do the hokey-cokey outside the Dom! Hahahaha! Is that familiar with the Americans here?!

Seeing as the hokey cokey in many parts of england at school parties has been banned on grounds of health and safety (running at eachother in a circle holding hands) then i would be WELL up for this in germany!!!
the new york one looked SO good.i'd be well up for any ideas to be honest...
what if...now heres a zany idea, we could organise flashmobs in separate cities in germany for all at the same time i.e we all do the same thing but in smaller groups at the exact same time across german...something typically foreign. I'd be up for helping to organise...if we could get the people for it we could get together teams across germany in smaller groups.
im getting far too carried away...tis the old thespian in me!

Hokey cokey?? running at people? I never did that part..

This is such a cool idea - we should get it going again! I had a funky idea... later when the weather gets a bit better we could all go to the dom platz on a clear sunny day and at a designated time all put up umbrellas as if it's raining!

@spiller: yeah of course! when you get to the "ooooo! The Hokey Cokey!" bit you all hold hands and run into the middle of the circle! You do get a few bumped heads and trodden on toes, but what the heck - it's nothing you won't recover from! Didn't know it had been banned due to health and saftey! Jeez! What is the world coming to! I got wondering about the HC after I mentioned the idea and looked it up on Wikipedia - there is a whole history attached to it! There are also different versions depending on whether you are from the US or the UK (& Ireland!) so I dunno if it would work so well as we are so multikulti!
