Meet up for dads and house husbands

Suggestion: Sunday or Monday 11/12.May.2008
GallacherScotty
Hi, I am a house husband, looking after my 3 year son.

Any other house husbands out there, who wish to meet up at one of the play areas - eg. Jogoli, or parks around munich.

Or meet up with out the kids for a beer.

Absolutely. Not a house husband but always up for a meetup with the kids.

Hi!
I'm actually replying for my hubbie who's moved us all here and now seems too busy to make any social contacts... We've got two kiddies, a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, and it's definitely time we all got out a bit more! Meetups with or without children and definitely involving a few beers would definitely interest Rich, as long as it's evenings or weekends!

I'll rope my family in for this one mate. Where's a good place to all meet up for a weekend coffee and chat to start with ?
Pas
Something during a weekend with the kids would be good. I notice there are a few very young ones though. My youngest is 3 and the older one nearing 5 rapidly. At this time of year Jogolis is as good as anywhere. They have a separate parents room so it's not too hard to have a conversation apart from the continous breaks for the toilet or muffins.

During the week I tend to meet up with various people at the indoor playgrounds in Munich. No limits on it being Dads or Mums.
GallacherScotty
Great to have responses and would be good to meet up and have a chat with someone other than my 3 year old (my son, not my partner-- haha!)
Any place is good for us - I will have to bow down to superior knowledge on advice where to go, we are free both Sat and Sunday the weekend of the 23rd - anyone else free then, or Sunday 2nd March? Could meet up in this play place Jogoli's - haven't been there before or up for any other suggestions.

Just to add to my wife's comment, we should get out more ...

One possibility *with* kiddies is the Hofbräukeller. Claudia's tried it and it is exremely kiddie friendly to the point of having a "watched" area that they can't escape from but you can still see what's going on (if I remember what she correctly).
Come the summer, the Fransikaner Beer garden is also kiddie friendly, but it's way out east.
I have no idea about possibilities without kiddies as ... we don't get out much. i think either of the two mentioned weekdns would be good for me.

Cheers,
LL.
Pas
Possibilites without kiddies are endless:-)
GallacherScotty
Hofbräukeller sounds like a good start- what about next saturday pm (23rd), the kids can play safely, we can have a beer, if any partners come along they can go shopping laugh.gif --- joking they can have a shandy - just the one though!!! biggrin.gif

Anyone up for it - or anyone prefer sunday?
Pas
I won't pick the kids up until Lunchtime so PM would have to be after 2 for me.
Sarah(Mummy!)
Hi All!We may join you as we know all of you but one, it would be a good laugh! However we have visitors for the weekend but they have kids and It's as good a place as any to go for lunch with lots of kiddies, so I guess we'll see you if we see you but may not stay long, as we might have to do the sight seeing thing. If we don't make it, make sure you get something else booked up so we can make the next one!!

Went to the Hofbräukeller this past Saturday at about 1415. Their lunch specials were 5.55 Euro and they had kids meals for 3 Euro.

It wasn't very crowded and the kids, 2.5 and a 5 year old, enjoyed the playroom. There is also a good playground & park just outside.

FYI - Parking was tough with ticket writers patrolling.

I'm able to meet during the week or weekend if anybody else wants to get out of the house.
GallacherScotty
Hi

Okay we will head down to the HofbrauKeller around 1.30ish.

Hope to see some of you there!

Scotty

Anybody going to the Hofbraukeller this Saturday?

We were hoping to go about 1230.
Pas
It would seem I am now picking my kids up at 10AM after my estranged wife changed the arrangements once again. Not sure how I managed to Marry the german with no concept of time or sticking to agreements but I guess that's why I'm getting rid of her.

I can therefore be there any time around lunchtime. How would we know each other?

I've never been before so is there a good place to meet?

I'm currently travelling back from Scotland so not online much today but I will check in from time to time.
GallacherScotty
Hi,

We will got to the Hofbraukeller from 12ish onwards.

Never been either so not sure how big it is or easy to find people, espcially when you don't know what they look like.

Have PM'd those interested a mobile number for us.
TexMunich
I'll be bringing the kids, 2.5 & 5, and the Missis. We will arrive at about 12 also.

When you go into the Hofbraukeller it is in the back. You can just ask for the Kinderspeilplatz area.

I've sent a pm with my mobile# to the interested parties.
Pas
On the way shortly but by the time we get there from Rosenheim 12.30 is probably more reaslistic.
Pas
That was great fun. I'd definatly recommend Hofbraukeller for somewhere to go with the kids. The gorgious weather and the fact we could take them outside for an hour at the end really was the icing on the cake.

I've got a few photos which i can post on the gallery unless anybody has any objections.

I'd definatly be up for something in the future. I'll get hold of Jesh and Steffrl and try and re-launch the mums and dads dinner.
GallacherScotty
Had great fun too! The Hofbraukeller is ideal for kids, thanks for that suggestion.

Really good to meet some other dads / mums - and hope that we can do it again soon -

The mum's and dad's meet up seems a really good idea and good way to meet other parents. Will have a butchers at the photo's !
iow
we are arriving in munich mid march and would love to join in biggrin.gif

We are probably going to head to a beer garden in Munich with the kids Sunday or Monday. Anyone fancy meeting up?

Hi all,

I am an Australian who has lived in Munich now for almost ten years. I now have a son (5 months) whom a I looking after till the end of the year (I am using fathers leave / 'Elternzeit'). I personally would be interested in getting to know some more fathers, and for my son I think it would be great to hear some english conversations and to play with other english speaking kids.

It would be great to kept informed of what is going on with this group. Also don't hesitate to give me a buzz / email / message.
Cheers
