Hello,

I need a new carry-on bag with wheels. My last one has lasted less than six months.

Does anyone have recommendations?

The thing is I fly almost every week and only with a carry-on and (now that is allowed again) a laptop bag.

My last one was a Travelpro which had great features but the longevity of a steak meal when I´m hungry.

I used to use an Atlantic carry-on but that also wore out and I've heard that they have a poor reputation.

I like my carry-ons to be a big as possible.

I'm loathed to buy a Tumi because I don't believe they will last long enough to be worthwhile. My favourite carry-on is a North Face bag, bought over 15 years ago and indestructible. But it doesn't have wheels.

Any recommendations from other frequent travellers on long-lasting bags?

Cheers,

If you want longevity then it has to be Samsonite but they are a bit pricey, you can order direct from Amazon.

Seconded. They're pricey but definitely worth it.

If you like your NF bag, maybe you should look at their options and see if they have a rolling duffel?

We love our Eagle Creek bags: rolling carry-on

I have red, and my husband has black. They are the perfect size for carry-on, great quality, and have an outside pocket. I like the canvas material vs. hard plastic, as it's more flexible with how much you pack (good for a few items and/or a lot) and fitting into airplane compartments. We take them on all our weekend trips.

Good luck finding the right bag.

I third Samsonite - Mine has been used pretty much weekly for the last 3 years on planes, trains and automobiles; it is often stuffed to near bursting and, apart from the odd scuff mark and pesky airline sticker mark, it still looks almost new. The zips and wheels show no sign of the abuse they've taken - those are what killed all its non-Samsonite predeccesors, which combined cost much more than this one good one.

If you have Lufthansa airmiles you might also want to look at the Titan range they offer - I have heard some rave reviews about their indestructibility.
