All we are sayin' is give [curry] a chance

7.30pm Thu. 14.Feb.2008 @ Mount Lavinia, Nuremberg

To not spark a curry war, I'm suggesting we head to Mount Lavinia this upcoming Thursday. Also in the grand tradition of compromise, let's meet at 7:30pm so that we're not too late into the dinner hour, yet we can still be accommodating for those whom 19:00 is too early. (Post if you have any special time concerns which we should consider.)

Mount Lavinia is at Jakobsplatz 22, 90402 Nürnberg 0911/227009

Also mentioned last Thursday is the possibility of having a non-curry get together too (not to interfere with curry night, of course, as we who love the stuff — well — love it). The justification is that some people, as hard as it may be to believe, do not like curry… or might be busy Thursday nights.

Do you think there might be a demand for non-curry nights? (I wonder if asking this question in a thread with "curry" in the name a bad idea...)

Hopefully Sue will join us this for this week's curry (we'd like to hear about adventures in CZ XC skiing).

See you all there! biggrin.gif

Getting seriously worried about the resolve of our friends in Nuernberg, it's not a mature curry night without a decent war or two. smile.gif

Hell yeah, let's start a food war! Garrett, you gotta duke it out with Francis, as I can see quite clearly that you pulled a Napoleon and grabbed that crown right outta his hands! <g>

Something-other-than-curry-night has been this secret little plan for a coup d'état I kept in my back pocket all these months. Not cause I don't like curry (even if I can't handle spicy ^^), but because...c'mon guys, there's SO MUCH GOOD FOOD out there! We are limiting ourselves unnecessarily, I think. So I'd even be so bold as to suggest that yes, people might survive spending a _Thurdsay_ night doing something else. But I'm up for other days, too. Just too much during the week ain't good for me cause I have to get my beauty sleep and get up freaking early every day.

If nothing terrible happens, such as my home being invaded by fire-breathing monkeys, I'm pretty sure I'll show up this Thursday.
Hope that many others decide to be there. Don't be square, and all that.

I have to mention my "time concern" here - I have to leave before the clock strikes midnight, or my glass slippers will fall right off. Meaning that I gotta catch the bus. So the sooner the better for me, actually - going to a pub at 11 pm makes little sense from my POV. But 7.30 seems alright.
See ya!

I know what I want and I want it Thursday. I want curry, cuz I'm Mr. Baine... that's right... the name's Lawernce Baine and boy do I love curry. Ooo wee.

I will be there Thursday at Mount Lavinia. You shall all be my Valentines tongue.gif Chocolate hearts anybody?

As for Garrett's question, I wouldn't mind doing a Sushi/Japanese night once a month ... maybe on a Tuesday. Or even on a weekend night.

Hm, are there any Sushi fans out there?

I'm not going to be able to come. Gotta do my valentine's dutiful stuff.

Anyway I'm still sulking about Sue, and now Garret. I do think its a good idea to have curry as a regular event, and then ad hoc other events.
Cooperthom
is there room for one more curry lover? pretty sure I can get there ... Cooper
Sue87
The more the currier, right? Sure you're welcome. Hop on board. ^^

Hi Sue87 as I lovingly called you once. smile.gif Hope you are well and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night. I'm coming too!

Sarah
Sue87
Hey, Sarah! Cool, looking forward to seeing you again! smile.gif

99% chance that I will be there
1% chance that I will be busy chasing fire-breathing monkeys that got away
0% chance that I will not be square
Antone_Capone
Mudgum, is that just one of your witty, clever ways of saying that you WILL be there. I hope so. God, you're cryptic... and angular... It's what makes you exceptional.

Oh yes, I am as well down for a chocolate heart and possibly a sushi night once in a while. I suggest Hiro Sako in Fürth, the best!

I'm not exactly sure what I was trying to say, but it sounds like I will be there. I could be wrong though. I needs to query my horoscope... it says something about "the planets are urging you to be more proactive and dynamic! Don’t wait: act!". OK then! I am headed to Mt Lavinia at this very moment!!
bwiltshire
i don't have a witty reply (i hope thats not a requirement for attending tonight), but i will be there.
Antone_Capone
Coolio, looks like it's going to be a real good group! A few new people as well... we'll have to watch the potty-mouth convos tonight!

Oh I had a good horo today as well...

Quickie:
Sometimes, it's easier to have fun when you are not trying so hard. Just relax!

Overview:
Try to explore your romantic side today -- it shouldn't be too difficult! If you're seeing someone, surprise them with a gift or a last-minute date; if not, now is the perfect time to meet someone new.

So basically this horo could aptly be summed up with the line: "Relax!, go to it, when you wanna come"
Antone_Capone
Oh, since we are a good size group did anybody call ahead for reservations?
garrett
Nope, that's a good idea. It looks like 8 people, right? Has anyone called yet?

(I would do it, but I don't know enough German yet... unsure.gif)
Sue87
Good question, I was wondering about the same last night but them sorta forgot about it again.
Since nobody has replied, I assume that's a big no.

I kept thinking it'll be ok, but now I'm not so sure, since it's V-Day and all that.
I'll call 'em, as soon as they open in 3 minutes, hoping nobody else did the same without informing people.
Sue87
Well, Garrett, wouldn't have been a problem for you to call, HE asked ME whether I spoke English. ^^
So, it's all done, we got a table for 8 people for 7.30 pm. See y'all when you get there. smile.gif
garrett
Wow. I'm going to have to remember that for future curryings. happy.gif
