Hi - My husband and I + pets are all moving to Bad Soden at the beginning of March for my job. I'd really appreciate anyone's comments on what life is like there and maybe a suggestion on a good bank and where to buy a cheap or used washer and dryer. It would also be nice to meet other English speakers while we are there. We've been living in England for the past year and a half so we have most of the other necessary home things. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I cannot say much about Bad Soden itself as I live in Frankfurt but I have heard nice things about it. As for banks I would recommend the Postbank. I have my current account with them and it is free and the biggest advantage I see is that they are open to the post office times so always until 18:30 on weeknights and on Saturday mornings. A lot of other German banks seems to close at 16:00 mid week apart from one evening where they open later. Also they are part of cashgroup meaning there are a lot more machines where you can access your money free of charge.

Hello! I'm looking to move to the Bad Soden area myself, not exactly far from Kronberg though :-). You have pretty much everything you need there, the necessary shops a few good restaurants / bars, a park and a great summer festival.
I'm with the Frankfurter Sparkasse in Bad Soden, but mainly because my boyfriends sister in law works there. If that wasn't the case I'm not sure that I would necessarily bank there, it's also difficult if you end up moving within Germany to keep an account at a Sparkasse... or at least that used to be the case.
All the best!

Bath Soda smile.gif .. really nice there. Nice Fest in the summer:- Fireworks, beer, sausages, beer...etc
Used to work close to there aroun 1998. Think it's a fairly decent place to live.
