Oktoberfest - First impressions of the opening day

Went to Oktoberfest today at around 4pm and was really surprised at how empty it was... seeing as the weather was nice, we went to the Löwenbräu Biergarten first, and had no bother getting a seat. We had a Maß there, and then moved on the Schottenhammel. Although it was full (obviously, because Anstich had been there 4 hours earlier and nobody was giving up thir seat, we found a space for 2 of us within about 5 minutes and enjoyed a Maß there as well. All in all a great start to the Wiesn, here's to another 15 days!!

I visited the Hofbrauhaus tent despite 25° weather outside. But I figured when the weather gets shitty, I'll have no chance whatsoever to get a place in a tent so I ignored my sun-yearnings and went in. There were 4 Italians next to us, 1 attractive, and 3 very overweight, heavily bearded types and 4 polish girls, young but not beauty queens. My bf seemed to think the polish girls were prosititues that is why they allowed the large men to play with their breast. Maybe I am naive.

My first day ever of Oktoberfest was in the Hacker Pschorr, opening Saturday. It was wall to wall, bodies on top of one another packed. The clientele were all young and german. I had a fabulous time, and didn't experience half of the groping, and sexual harrasment that I did in the Hofbrau tent, although being approached and spoke to first in english was a nice change from the norm.
